But lest us not forget that Summer was also a sartorial great. Her style was part 70′s Halston glamour-girl (sequin gowns, thigh-high slits, silk jumpsuits),  part drag-queen fierceness (big boas, cheetah print leotards), and- retrospectively- part Wicker Park hipster (this video, ’nuff said).

At 63, the world has lost Donna Summer at far too young an age but she will be remembered for many, many years as the Disco Queen.

This British model and property heiress also plays drums in a Gospel/Lyrical/Punk Band called Thrush Metal, and was recently dubbed the face of thd Chanel Boy bag. If her half-shaved head isn’t testement to her heiress-grunge look then her insane wardrobe is. It doesn’t matter whether Dellal is banging on a set of drums or walking a red carpet- She’s always all Alice.

The Met Costume Institute Gala is arguably the most anticipated fashion event of the year- it brings out the best! Designers and celebrities unite as fashion ‘power-couples’ and never cease to impress.
